The cultural cradle of the Islands of the moon “djouzr
lkamar,” Moroni is a multicultural city known for its hospitality. Being a
crossroad of several civilisations, it attracts many visitors. The old mosque
with its minaret impresses the tourists as well as the harbour which joins it
to the other islands, Madagascar and the mainland.
The national museum which has an abundance of histories of
fighter sultans, of volcano eruptions and Islamic art is recognised by the
educative system.
